Exchange/Sale Program Frequently Asked Questions |
| |
| |
Here are some of the frequently asked questions and answers concerning this program:
How does Exchange/Sale work?
At General Dynamics Itronix, the program is quite simple. As a preliminary alternative to the traditional Excess and Surplus disposition model, the client sends all equipment into AnythingIT (AIT), an GD-Itronix partner, for auditing and testing. Once equipment has been audited and tested, the customer will receive an inventory report detailing all assets received with full system configurations. The value for systems will be paid via a rebate check.
Are there limitations or restrictions?
Units must be traded in for new GD-Itronix products and a proof of purchase is required.
What are the fees associated with this program?
There is no fee, only value back to you, if the product being returned has a value greater than the fee schedule below. However, this is not a free disposal service. If your current product(s) were received and through the inspection process, it was determined:
- Product condition is different than what was originally quoted and there is no trade-in value
- The equipment is in non-working/incomplete condition
- The value of the equipment is less than the fee schedule listed below
AIT will make every effort to pre-qualify each opportunity presented however AIT reserves the right to charge you a disposition fee for this product. If the product can be returned to you, you will be responsible for any and all associated shipping costs in addition to accumulated disposition fees. Customer will be notified at this stage. Please refer to the terms and conditions page. "Incomplete" means assets or peripherals that are received by AIT missing a material component or components that would prevent them from functioning in a material manner, thereby making the assets or peripherals inoperable.
Fee schedule — Should the equipment be received in the above conditions, GD-Itronix client will be subject to the following fees, which will be due in full at the completion of the audit report transmission.
- Test and Audit Process (TAP): $20.00/asset (applicable to all assets)(includes DOD scrub and disposition)
How is the equipment shipped?
AIT (GD-Itronix's partner) manages the logistics process and can coordinate the logistics of equipment anywhere in the United States. Additionally, AIT will work with any logistics company that has been pre-selected by your client.
Why would a customer choose Exchange/Sale?
Some federal, state, local and educational customers cannot accept cash-back or rebate incentives as part of applicable legislation. For these customers, Exchange/Sale is the only way a customer can take advantage of a remarketing effort to reduce the cost of new technology. By using Exchange/Sale, resellers can reduce the tendency to discount a new hardware purchase and use the value of systems in place to offset new product costs. Exchange/Sale is in full compliance of all GSA Property Management Regulations (FMR 102.39), which has the sole purpose of reducing costs of acquisition within the government.
What are some other important points associated with this program that I should remember?
The GD-Itronix Exchange/Sale Program addresses key liabilities that have been learned from best practices in asset management. AIT (GD-Itronix's Partner) will perform TAP on all systems to ensure data protection. Additionally, systems that are found to be non-working will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner and an audit trail will be provided as to the disposition of every piece of equipment.
Who can I contact for more information on the program?
GD-Itronix has dedicated a team for this program. Call 800-441-1309 between the hours of 8:00 AM6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (Monday to Friday) or e-mail your question to trade-in@itronix.com or contact your GD-Itronix sales representative.
What is AIT?
AIT has over 12 years of experience in managing asset disposition programs in the public and commercial sectors. AIT is a GSA Schedule holder for asset disposition as well as an SBA Registered Corporation. Based in Fort Lee, NJ, AIT has facilitated asset disposition programs for some of the world's leading corporations and manages OEM/Reseller programs similar to the GD-Itronix Exchange/Sale Program.
How is the condition of my product determined?
Since the condition of your product helps to determine its value, you must accurately state your current product's condition. AIT will perform an inspection upon receipt of your product to ensure its condition matches the stated condition. The three general condition levels include:
- Excellent: the product is in excellent working condition and needs no refurbishment. The body of the product is clean (i.e., no smudges, ink marks, dents, stickers, or scratches).
- Good: the body of the product has only minor blemishes (i.e., smudges, ink marks, dents, stickers, or scratches). The product has no technical problems (i.e., it does not make noise, run slowly, is not missing pieces, etc.).
- Poor: the product has no major technical problems; it turns on and is in working condition; but has cosmetic defects. The product is missing critical accessories such as an A/C adapter.
